What We Do
Tuition Assistance: A Hallmark of Vision of Hope
For the last 25 years, Vision of Hope has provided tuition assistance to its eight schools. These funds have been an anchor of support to our schools and the families they serve.
Through annual fundraising and an endowed tuition assistance fund established in 2005, Vision of Hope allocates on average $100,000 to each of its eight schools through endowment dollars and annual fundraising. Vision of Hope’s tuition assistance accounts for 10-15% of each school’s total income, making it one of the top two funders of each school. Most importantly, 1,055 students of approximately 1,665 attending these schools receive annual tuition assistance from Vision of Hope.
Blended Learning in Our Schools
In partnership with Loyola Marymount University, Blended Learning has been implemented in our eight schools. Watch this video from St. James School to see the enthusiasm that teachers and students have for this method of teaching. Blended Learning techniques and the students’ familiarity with technology greatly eased the transition to at-home instruction forced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Within a few days of school lockdowns in March 2020, teachers were teaching and students were learning.
Parent Leadership & Family Engagement
Vision of Hope is stepping forward to support parents in our school communities by leading, funding, and implementing a Parent Leadership and Family Engagement Program. By investing in parent engagement programs, using the best practices in parent, family, and community engagement, our goal is to develop a network of parent leaders who will become deeply invested in their children’s academic success and school sustainability. Though we have always recognized strong relationships with parents and families as both a priority and an asset of our school communities, research indicates that family participation in education is twice as predictive of student academic success as socioeconomic status.
