Saint Michael’s Catholic School has been part of the fabric of the city of Los Angeles since first established by the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose. The Sisters have administered and taught here since 1903, offering a beacon of hope for these children of the inner-city; one of the most crime-ridden and financially needy sections of Los Angeles.

The children of this area struggle every day with obstacles that to many, would be unbearable. Born into poverty, their families have few resources to allocate towards education.  Children of South Central have been robbed of their right to dream or to vision a future for themselves.

St. Michael is an oasis for many of these children. Through our present affiliation with the Sisters, we continue the  tradition of educating our students based on faith, values and morals. Our vision is to provide accessible and affordable education in a safe environment, giving them the tools they will need to become strong, healthy individuals in mind and body, able to give back to the church and community through respect and service.

Our commitment to educating the students-at-risk in the inner-city remains at the forefront of our mission. We invite you to be a part of our vision and help our students dreams become a reality.
